(don’t) BE NAUGHTY!

This project produced a tool to be used to carry out a ‘(don’t) BE NAUGHTY’ workshop, that operates without the need for instructions or a ‘teacher’. Its form is a workbook that aims to encourage the learner to be the ‘co-creator’ by giving space to challenge boundaries and authority. The publication invites a deconstruction of our prescribed behaviours by stimulating alternative responses to the materiality of the printed booklet as a way to challenge our ingrained obedience. It visually takes inspiration from school exercise books to represent the unlearning of taught behaviour and its graphics aim to inspire actions of naughtiness through mimicking and non verbal illustrations. The text incorporates the signature conflicting ‘(don’t)’ to take away the authority of the author and encourage an individual interpretation of naughtiness. Overall inviting the unlearning of oppression from the societally coded concept of being well-behaved, through celebrating and activating childlike misbehaving and disobedience in all ages with this provocative workbook.
