HAPPY FAMILIES

As part of the ongoing project ‘HOMESICK’ that is focused on creating playful reconfigurations of the home, moving beyond the isolated and privatised promise of care currently harboured in the normative home - re-designing it instead to code the home as a place of joy and for the discovery of alternate care structures. Here the game happy families are reinvevted. Normally it is based around normative nuclear families, the winner literally being the person who acquires the most sets of perfect families. I aimed to subvert this by using the traditional games sets of families but making the card into wooden interlocking pieces to build together a larger structure of family.
